Mix 104.1’s On Air Personality Crowned Miss Pink 2019

BOSTON, MASS - On April 13, 2019, ten breast cancer survivors took the stage at the Danversport Yacht Club to "compete for a cause and fight for a cure” in the 10th Annual Miss Pink Pageant, hosted by Loren Raye, co-host of the TJ Show on 103.3 AMP Radio, and Tom Leyden, Sports Anchor at Fox Boston 25 News. Among these women was Erin O’Malley, DJ and radio personality for Mix 104.1.

O’Malley, a Boston marathon runner for the Boston Children’s Hospital, found a lump in her breast just six months after a clear mammogram. She was diagnosed with Stage 2, triple negative – which is the fastest growing, fastest type of tumor. A mother, sister, daughter, and wife, Erin has also become an inspiration and beacon of hope in the breast cancer community. She wore a Wonder Woman costume to every chemo appointment, not just to remind herself of her inner strength, but to remind others fighting this disease of their strength as well.

O’Malley put on her Wonder Woman armor again as she took the Miss Pink Pageant stage with fellow breast cancer survivors. These women, known as Pink Warriors, were vying for the title of “Miss Pink”, by sharing their stories of courage and survival. O’Malley was crowned Miss Pink 2019 and will spend the next year as The Miss Pink Organization’s ambassador and spokesperson, raising awareness and spreading hope. The Miss Pink Organization, which supports families affected by breast cancer by providing funds to cover the costs of medical bills and basic necessities during times of treatment, benefited from the night’s proceeds.
